This book is a perfect late night read, when you just want to be creeped out at what could be lurking in your walls.
Have you ever rented a room or had a roommate? The horror of what could happen is brought out in this book. Would you trust someone you met off Craigslist? Of course not! But what if your other option meant sleeping in your car for a whole semester? Nya had to make a split-second decision which could prove to be her undoing, choosing to stay at this house when her inner thoughts were screaming at her NO! When she starts to notice that her milk is being used, or the slight clicking and scratching she can hear all night long, drives her mad, she turns to her only other friend there, Curtis. She met him the day she had to buy her books, and he seems to always be there for her to lend an ear. He was the only person she could talk to about what is going on at the house. With the rash on Syd that only seems to be getting worse, and the sound of someone outside her bedroom and bathroom door, Nya is convinced something bad is happening in this house.
When bad things happened, she sometimes still wondered if it was because she was a bad person who deserved bad things.

When I say that this book made me audibly gasp, you better believe it! I never would have guessed Curtis is Arlo! I thought he was acting odd, how he seemed to always be there when she needed it the most, but I definitely did not think he was Arlo and living in the basement. I gotta say, now when I venture down into my basement, I think about how Arlo was living in the basement walls, and I walk just a bit quicker back up my basement steps. LOL! I thought Syd was creepy as hell and disgusting. I would've bet money that he was the one creeping around the house at night, but he was being terrorized as much as Nya. This was an amazing book that I finished with in only a few short days. It's a standalone, short read, the perfect book to keep you up at night, wondering just what is in your closet. I give this book 5 stars!
